STR Logistics – History

The STR Logistics story began in 2000 in Exeter when Steven Richardson, the managing director, won a contract with a national company to provide delivery services on their behalf.

At the time the company had only a small warehouse and 5 vehicles. STR Logistics has been expanding steadily as a delivery, distribution and transport solutions company gaining experience with working with many large, national companies.

In 2008 STR won a contract to provide services to the banking sector, delivering and collecting internal post. This led to rapid growth, with the company employing over 30 people and operating 25 vehicles delivering and distributing goods all over the South West.

In 2011 we moved to new modern premises at Peamore Truck Centre in Exeter, which is ideally located within minutes from the A38, A30 and M5 allowing us to complete any sort of deliveries and collections as efficiently as possible. Since then STR Logistics has expanded its services to white and brown good deliveries to domestic and commercial locations across the area. STR also specialise in motorbike and quad deliveries.

Today, the company has over 70 vehicles and employs 90 members of staff and is planning to expand even further.

STR Logistics Employee Development

STR Logistics take great care and consideration to ensure that all employees are sufficiently trained to do their jobs to the highest level.

This includes:

• Continuous on job training
• Thorough Health and Safety training, Manual Handling training and training to ensure safe and fuel efficient driving
• Emergency First Aid at work training
• The potential for further driving development – Class 2, Class 1

Technology

ECO Vans – STR take our environmental impact very seriously and only use environmentally-friendly vehicles that produces less harmful emissions. Our modern fleet of vehicles is renewed on a regular basis and is subject to strict maintenance schedules.
 
Vehicle cameras – we are actively promoting safe and efficient driving and all our vehicles are equipped with in cab cameras. The footage is used for an ongoing training.
